Facilities Engineer/Specialist II or III

Location: Midland, TX (seeking local candidates only)

Schedule: 5/2 – M-F – 40 hours – Onsite/Field – OT would be approved on an as needed basis

Pay Rate: Level II: $75 Level III: $95

Main Functions:

Evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work performed both internally and by Contractors and sub-contractors to ensure that work is being executed in accordance with Company specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. Facilitates effective execution of discipline engineering and design routines that align with the team’s goals, objectives, and procedures. Assures accurate and timely communication among the team and other company Functions on discipline engineering activities, progress, and issues. In addition to technical ability, they should demonstrate sound communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

LEVEL II
Tasks and Responsibilities:
In addition to Level 1 tasks and responsibilities, Level 2:
• Be an Area engineer for operations for a specific plant area.
• Work in a team with other Facilities engineers, Site Contact & Lead Engineers to support assigned operations area and gain knowledge/exposure to other areas of plant.
• Conduct Monthly Facilities Surveillance of area driven KPI’s.
• Provide operations support for changes, repairs & alterations of all plant pressure equipment (including piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, tanks etc.).
• Provide shutdown engineering support.

LEVEL III
Tasks and Responsibilities:
In addition to Level 1 and 2 tasks and responsibilities, Level 3 :
• Participates in area Risk Assessment, HAZOP’s, Hazard Hunts, Critical Operating Parameter Reviews.
• Lead incident investigations (downtime, process safety related).
• Support Opportunity management-identification of opportunities and development of scope of work for projects.
• Risk assessments on new facility projects, existing facilities and closure of mitigating action items.
• Lead performance testing and plant based trials.
• Operating guideline development for facilities.
• Coaching and mentoring of fellow and junior colleagues.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, or Electrical Mechanical Engineering or related engineering specialty, or equivalent professional experience
• Extensive knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
• Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs
• Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications

Experience Preferred:

  • Implement capital budget for water infrastructure
  • Project execution experience needed
  • Troubleshooting experience
  • Water treatment/facilities experience a plus
  • Pipeline hydraulic, pump design experience
  • PSSR support through commissioning – Field time required
    Communication, project management, strong technical background in water related (pumps, pipelines) applications a plus
  • 8+ years’ experience requested

Additional requirements/preferences:

Engineering degree in one of the following, experience considered if degree is outside of these concentrations:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Mechnical Engineering
  • Petroleum Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
